This is Coach Rhoden's 12th season at the helm of the program. A gifted mentor of the sport - his inaugural season with the Cougars was capped with a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA National Championships and a (then) school record six All-Americans.
Since then, the Cougar program has not finished any lower than 8th place at the NJCAA National Championships, including a NJCAA National Championship in 2011. In addition, the Cougars boast 5 National Dual Meet Championships (2011, 2014, 2015, 2016 & 2017).
A product of Crook County High School, Rhoden was a standout at Clackamas during the 2000-01 season, taking third at the regionals and a top-10 finish at national's.

He became a dominating NCAA Division III 174-pounder, winning conference champion twice, was named the 2003 Northwest Wrestling Championships Most Outstanding Wrestler and qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships.
Josh then transferred to Pacific University for his senior season after Pacific Lutheran suspended its wresting program. He enjoyed continued success at Pacific, winning two tournament crowns, until he sustained a season-ending knee injury. He compiled 91 wins during his stellar collegiate career, but the untimely injury resulted in Roden falling nine matches short of a huge collegiate milestone of 100 victories.
His coaching career began with Pacific University where he was a graduate-assistant for 2004-05 season. He then became an sssistant at Redmond High School where he helped lead the Panthers to fifth place in the 2006 OSAA 4A Wrestling Championships.
